Ameerah McBride Announced as AURA’s first Chief Diversity Officer

The Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ameerah McBride as its first Chief Diversity Officer. In this newly created position McBride will work closely with leaders across AURA to ensure the development and implementation of programs and strategic initiatives that enable a culture for diversity, equity and inclusion.

AURA Statement on the Starlink Constellation of Satellites

The Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA) is the managing organization for many ground-based telescopes for National Science Foundation (NSF), both extant and under construction. We note that the launch of the Starlink system may have impacts on the observational capabilities of these facilities.
